Saint Gaspare Bufalo, also known as the Apostle of Rome, was born on 6 January 1786 in Rome, Italy. He was the son of Antonio del Bufalo, a chef to Prince Altieri, and Annunziata Quartieroni. As an infant, Gaspare suffered from an eye condition that threatened to blind him, but he was miraculously cured in 1788 after prayers for the intervention of Saint Francis Xavier....
