Saint Gaugericus of Cambrai, also known as Gaugericus of Arras, was born in Trier, Germany, to Gaudentius and Austadiola. From a young age, he displayed piety and devotion to his faith. Gaugericus' exceptional knowledge of the Psalms led him to be ordained as a deacon in recognition of his mastery of Scripture.
