Saint Julian of Auvergne, also known as Julian of Brionde, Julian of Brioude, Julian of Briounde, and Giuliano, was an officer in the imperial Roman army and a devout Christian. Born in Vienne, Dauphiny, Gaul (modern France), Julian lived during a time of intense Christian persecution under the reign of Emperor Diocletian. As a closet Christian, Julian managed to hide his faith while serving in the Roman army....
