Saint Maximus of Riez, also known as Maximus of Decom, was born in Châteauredon, France, in the region of Provence. He was raised in a Christian home and from a young age, showed a strong inclination towards the religious life. His desire for solitude led him to become a hermit, living a life of seclusion and prayer. Maximus eventually joined the monastery founded by Saint Honoratius in Lerins, France....
