Saint Paulus Liu Hanzuo, also known as Baolu and Paul Lieou, was born around 1778 in Lezhi, Sichuan, China. He came from a poor Christian family and had limited opportunities for education. Despite these challenges, Paulus felt a deep calling to the priesthood and entered seminary at the age of 24.
