Saint Placid, also known as Placido or Placidus, was a revered figure in early Christianity and a devoted follower of Saint Benedict of Nursia. He was born into a patrician senatorial family and sent as a young boy to study with Saint Benedict at the famed monastery in Subiaco, Italy. It is said that Saint Maurus, another disciple of Saint Benedict, played a significant role in Saint Placid's life....
