Saint Rolende of Gerpinnes, also known as Rolendis, was born in the 8th century in northern Gaul (modern France). She was the daughter of King Didier of the Lombards, who was in exile after being defeated in battle by Blessed Charlemagne. Despite being born into royalty, Rolende felt a deep calling to dedicate her life to God....
