Blessed Eugénie Joubert, also known as Eugénie Anna Joubert, was born on 11 February 1876 in Yssingeaux, Haute-Loire, France. She was the fourth of eight children of Pietro Joubert and Antonia Celle, who were wine-makers by profession. Eugénie was baptized on the day she was born, symbolizing her early connection to the Catholic faith.
