Biografía

Blessed Agapit Gorgues Manresa, also known as Agapit Gorgues Manresa, was a Catholic priest in the archdiocese of Tarragona, Spain. He is remembered for his martyrdom during the Spanish Civil War. Born on June 4, 1913, in Cerviá, Lleida, Spain, Agapit dedicated his life to the service of God from a young age.

Agapit was ordained a priest and served in various parishes within the archdiocese of Tarragona. He was known for his deep faith, compassion, and dedication to his parishioners. During a time of great political and social unrest in Spain, Agapit continued to carry out his pastoral duties, providing spiritual guidance and support to those in need.

Unfortunately, the Spanish Civil War brought about a wave of violence and persecution towards the Catholic Church. On October 23, 1936, in his hometown of Cerviá, Lleida, Agapit was arrested due to his religious affiliation.
