Beato Antonio Mohedano Larriva

Blessed Antonio Mohedano Larriva was a Spanish priest and member of the Salesians of Don Bosco. He was born on September 14, 1894, in Córdoba, Spain.

Ordained as a priest, Blessed Antonio dedicated his life to the service of God and worked diligently within the Salesian community. He was known for his deep faith, compassion, and dedication to the spiritual development of young people.

Tragically, during the Spanish Civil War, a period marked by social and political unrest in Spain, Blessed Antonio Larriva was martyred. On August 2, 1936, he was killed in Ronda, Málaga, in the line of duty for his unwavering commitment to his faith and his vocation as a priest.

Further honoring his memory and sanctity, Pope Benedict XVI beatified Blessed Antonio Mohedano Larriva on October 28, 2007, affirming his holiness and the Church's recognition of his intercession.

Devotees of Blessed Antonio commemorate his life and martyrdom on August 2nd, the day of his death, as his feast day.
