Blessed Arnaldo of Liniberio, also known as Arnaldo de Liniberio, was a devoted Mercedarian prior in Barcelona, Spain. While there is limited information available about his early life, his extraordinary actions during his time as a Mercedarian friar have solidified his place of honor in the Catholic Church.

Blessed Arnaldo is particularly renowned for his powerful commitment to the redemption of Christian captives enslaved by Muslims. During the 16th century, conflicts and raids resulted in many Christians being held captive in both Morocco and Granada, Spain. However, despite the dangerous and challenging circumstances, Blessed Arnaldo fearlessly dedicated himself to their liberation.

Working tirelessly, Blessed Arnaldo successfully ransomed 156 Christians who were held captive in Morocco, securing their freedom and bringing them back to their homes and families. In addition, he freed 32 Christians who were similarly enslaved in Granada. His selfless efforts to free these individuals from bondage not only relieved their suffering but also served as a testament to the compassion and mercy of the Christian faith.

Blessed Arnaldo's faith and dedication to the mission of the Mercedarian order were also evident in his role as a prior. He fulfilled his duties with humility, inspiring those around him with his deep spirituality and commitment to serving God and others.

He died of natural causes and was buried near the altar of the church of his convent in Barcelona, Spain.
