Biografía

Blessed Balthasar Uchibori, a devoted layman of the Archdiocese of Nagasaki, Japan, is commemorated as a martyr of the Christian faith. Born into a family deeply rooted in the nascent Church of Japan, he was the son of the Blessed Paulus Uchibori Sakuemon and the brother of the Blessed Antonius Uchibori and the Blessed Ignatius Uchibori. His life unfolded during a period of intense persecution for Christians in Japan, particularly under the Tokugawa shogunate’s suppression of the faith.
