Biografía

Blessed Conrad of Frisach, also known as Konrad, was a renowned figure in the Catholic Church during the 13th century. He is best known for his extensive contributions as a doctor, theologian, and missionary.

Born in an unspecified date, Conrad commenced his academic journey at the prestigious University of Bologna in Italy, where he pursued studies in medicine. Known for his exceptional intellect and dedication, he soon earned the title of Doctor, becoming highly regarded among his peers and colleagues.

During this period, Conrad became acquainted with the Dominican Order, founded by Saint Dominic himself. Deeply inspired by the Order's mission to preach the Gospel and bring salvation to souls, he decided to embrace the Dominican way of life. It is said that he received his religious vows directly from Saint Dominic, highlighting the significance of their encounter.

Eager to spread the teachings of the Catholic Church, Conrad embarked on a missionary journey throughout Germany. With zeal and conviction, he devoted himself to the spiritual well-being of the German people, striving to strengthen their faith and nurture their relationship with God.

In 1239, while fervently engaged in his missionary work in Magdeburg, Germany, Conrad met his earthly end. It is reported that, in the midst of his ministry, he fell ill but continued to praise and magnify the Lord. To his last breath, Conrad was found singing the Psalm, "Cantate Domino canticum novum" (Sing a new song unto the Lord), a testament to his unwavering devotion and love for God.

Recognizing the sanctity and exceptional virtues displayed by Conrad throughout his life, the Catholic Church celebrates his feast day on November 24th. Although additional aspects of his life, such as his birthdate and representations, remain undisclosed, Conrad's unwavering commitment to his vocation is revered and serves as an inspiration for all those who seek to follow in his footsteps.
