Beata Cristiana Di Paride

Blessed Cristiana Di Paride, also known as Cristiana of Assisi, was born in the early 13th century in Italy. She belonged to a noble family, the daughter of Cristiano di Paride, a knight who served as consol of Assisi. Cristiana's strong religious inclination led her to enter the Poor Clare monastery of San Damiano in 1246 or 1247.

During her time in the monastery, Cristiana became a spiritual student of Saint Clare of Assisi, who played a significant role in her life. It is recorded that in the summer of 1252, Saint Clare miraculously cured Cristiana of her deafness in one ear. Saint Clare made the sign of the cross over Cristiana's ear and offered prayers for her healing. This miraculous event marked an important moment in Cristiana's spiritual journey.

Blessed Cristiana Di Paride was not only a recipient of Saint Clare's divine intervention but also actively participated in the canonization process of her beloved mentor. Cristiana made depositions as part of the work for the canonization of Saint Clare, providing valuable testimonials and insights into the saint's life and miracles.
