Biografía

Blessed Francisco Rodríguez Martínez, a Catholic priest, was born on December 10, 1869, in the town of Albox in Almería, Spain. He served as a faithful Priest in the diocese of Almería, dedicating his life to the spiritual care of his parishioners.

During the turbulent period of the Spanish Civil War, which lasted from 1936 to 1939, Blessed Francisco became a martyr for his strong adherence to his faith and unwavering commitment to his ministry. On September 13, 1936, he was tragically killed in Puente del Río de Antas, Vera, Almería, Spain, as a result of the violent persecution directed towards the Catholic Church.

Blessed Francisco Rodríguez Martínez was recognized for his martyrdom and his sacrifice for the Catholic faith. On June 14, 2016, Pope Francis declared him venerable, acknowledging his heroic virtues.
