Biografía

Blessed Francisco Roselló Hernández, also known as Francisco Roselló, was a layman who lived in the diocese of Cartagena, Spain. Born in Cartagena, Murcia, Spain in 1907, Francisco was a devoted Catholic and an active member of the Association of the Sons of Mary of the Miraculous Medal.

During the turbulent period of the Spanish Civil War, Francisco Roselló bravely remained committed to his faith. Unfortunately, his unwavering devotion to Catholicism led to his martyrdom. On 18th October 1936, in his hometown of Cartagena, Murcia, Spain, Francisco Roselló was martyred for his faith.

His sacrifice and steadfastness in the face of persecution did not go unnoticed. Francisco Roselló was venerated posthumously for his heroic virtue and the circumstances of his death. On 1st December 2016, Pope Francis officially recognized his martyrdom, declaring him as a blessed of the Catholic Church.

The beatification ceremony for Blessed Francisco Roselló Hernández took place on 11th November 2017. The ceremony was held at the Palacio Vistalegre Arena in Carabanchel, Madrid, Spain. It was presided over by Cardinal Angelo Amato and Cardinal Carlos Osoro Sierra of Madrid, signifying the significance of Francisco's beatification.
