Biografía

Blessed Joan Blanch Badía was born on 1 March 1873 in Puigpelat, Tarragona, Spain. He was ordained as a priest on 12 June 1897 and became a member of the Claretians, a religious congregation founded by Saint Anthony Mary Claret. He made his religious vows on 27 July 1902, committing himself to a life of service and dedication to God.

During the turbulent period of the Spanish Civil War, Blessed Joan Blanch Badía remained steadfast in his faith and commitment to his ministry. However, his unwavering devotion to the Catholic Church ultimately led to his martyrdom. On 31 August 1936, he was tragically shot in Sant Pere del Arquells, Lleida, Spain, sacrificing his life for his beliefs.
