Biografía

Blessed Joan Pastor Marco, also known as FabiÖ, was born on January 14, 1876, in Barcelona, Spain. He was a monk and a devoted member of the Marist Brothers of the Schools, a religious congregation founded by St. Marcellin Champagnat.

Throughout his life, Blessed Joan Pastor Marco exemplified deep faith and a strong commitment to his vocation. He embraced the essential values of the Marist Brothers such as education, simplicity, humility, and love for Mary, the mother of Jesus.

During the turbulent times of the Spanish Civil War, which lasted from 1936 to 1939, Spain was deeply divided along political lines. The conflict carried a profound impact on the Catholic Church, leading to the persecution of clergy, religious orders, and faithful laypeople.

Tragically, Blessed Joan Pastor Marco became a martyr of the Spanish Civil War, sacrificing his life for his faith. On September 3, 1936, in Les Avellanes, Balaguer, Lleida, Spain, he met his martyrdom, testifying to his unwavering commitment to Christ and the Church.

In recognition of his heroic virtues and martyrdom, Pope Francis declared him venerable on June 3, 2013. Later, on October 13, 2013, Pope Francis beatified Blessed Joan Pastor Marco, offering him as a model of faith and devotion to the Catholic faithful.

Although specific details about Blessed Joan Pastor Marco's life and deeds are not provided here, it is important to acknowledge his courageous witness to the Gospel and his selfless dedication to his religious community. His beatification invites us to remember and learn from his life, seeking inspiration to persevere in our own faith journeys despite the challenges we may face.
