Blessed José María Rojas Lobo, also known as Blessed José María Rojas Lobo y Pulido, was a young layman lawyer in the archdiocese of Sevilla, Spain. He was born on 29 September 1910 in Sevilla, Spain, and from a young age, demonstrated a deep devotion to his Catholic faith.

During the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War, marked by intense persecution of Catholics, José María bravely stood firm in his beliefs. On 20 July 1936, at the onset of the war, he was unjustly arrested for his faith by the anti-Catholic forces. Tragically, he was shot and seriously wounded, sustaining grave injuries as a result.
