Biografía

Blessed Lorenzo Santolaria Ester, also known as Blessed Lorenzo Santolaria, was a Benedictine monk in the Solesmes Congregation who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. He was born on April 20, 1872, in Torres de Alcanadre, Huesca, Spain. His life was dedicated to his faith and service to God.

As a member of the Solesmes Congregation, Blessed Lorenzo Santolaria Ester embraced the monastic life within the Benedictine tradition. The Solesmes Congregation was known for its devotion to the liturgy and Gregorian chant. During his time as a monk, Blessed Lorenzo Santolaria Ester committed himself to a life of prayer, contemplation, and service.

However, his peaceful life was tragically interrupted by the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. This conflict, which took place from 1936 to 1939, was marked by intense political and ideological divisions within Spain. Many religious individuals, including priests and monks, became targets of persecution during this tumultuous time.

Blessed Lorenzo Santolaria Ester remained steadfast in his faith and refused to renounce his religious vows.
