He lived during the thirteenth century and dedicated his life to the mission of rescuing Christians who were enslaved by Muslim Saracens in North Africa. His courageous efforts to redeem these enslaved Christians eventually led him to Tunis.

While on his journey to Tunis, Blessed Luigi was captured by Muslim Turkish pirates who not only robbed him but also demanded that he renounce his Christian faith. However, he remained steadfast in his devotion to his beliefs and refused to abjure his faith. As a result, he faced brutal torture at the hands of his captors.

Despite the immense physical torment inflicted upon him, Blessed Luigi Blanc remained resolute and unwavering. His unwavering commitment to his faith exemplifies his unwavering commitment to Christianity and his belief in the value and sanctity of every human life.

Tragically, in the year 1250, Blessed Luigi met a martyr's death as he was drowned in the sea. The pirates threw him overboard with heavy stones tied around his neck, ensuring that his body would never be recovered. This brutal act symbolized the sacrifice he made for his faith and his dedication to the mission of redemption.
