Biografía
Blessed Luis Aguirre Bilbao, also known as Luis Aguirre, was born on 13 September 1914 in Murguía, Vizcaya, Spain. Orphaned at a young age, Luis faced many hardships in his early life. Despite the challenges, he remained steadfast in his faith and was determined to serve God.
Luis Aguirre pursued his education while working as a mechanic, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to his studies. His strong desire to enter the religious life led him to join the Vincentians, an order founded by St. Vincent de Paul. On 30 June 1933, Luis made his profession as a member of the Vincentians.
During the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War, when religious persecution was rampant, Luis Aguirre fearlessly continued his religious vocation. Unfortunately, his unwavering faith and commitment to serving God eventually led to his martyrdom. On 30 July 1936, Luis was tragically killed in Alcorisa, Teruel, Spain.
Blessed Luis Aguirre Bilbao is honored on two feast days. One of these is on 30 July to commemorate his martyrdom, and the other is on 6 November as one of the Vincentian Martyrs.

Blessed Luis Aguirre Bilbao's life serves as a testament to his unwavering faith, determination, and commitment to his religious calling.
