Beato Luis León Muñoz

Blessed Luis León Muñoz, also known as Blessed Luis León, was a devout Catholic priest of the diocese of Córdoba, Spain, who dedicated his life to serving the El Carpio community. He was born on May 18, 1888, in El Carpio, Córdoba, Spain, and his strong faith and love for God led him to pursue the priesthood.

Luis León Muñoz was ordained as a Catholic priest, and he faithfully carried out his pastoral duties, providing spiritual guidance and support to the people of El Carpio. In recognition of his martyrdom and his exemplary life, Pope Francis declared him venerable on November 23, 2020. This decree of martyrdom acknowledged his sacrifice and affirmed his devotion to God, even in the face of persecution.

On October 16, 2021, Pope Francis beatified Luis León Muñoz, recognizing him as Blessed Luis León. The beatification ceremony took place at the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Córdoba, Spain, and was presided over by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro.
