Biografía

Blessed Madeleinefran√ßoise De Justamond, also known as Sister Madeleine of the Blessed Sacrament, was born on 26 July 1754 in Bollène, Vaucluse, France. She entered the novitiate in Avignon, France in 1772, demonstrating her deep commitment to her faith and desire to dedicate her life to God as a Cistercian nun. Madeleine made her profession on 24 October 1773, solidifying her devotion and becoming an integral part of the religious community.

During the turbulent period of the French Revolution, Madeleinefrançoise De Justamond faced immense persecution for her beliefs. She remained steadfast in her commitment to her religious vows and stood as a symbol of unwavering faith in the face of adversity. Eventually, her unshakable dedication led to her martyrdom.

On 16 July 1794, in the town of Orange, Vaucluse, France, Madeleinefrançoise De Justamond was tragically executed by guillotine. Her death at the hands of the revolutionaries symbolized the immense sacrifices made by many Catholics during this tumultuous period in history.

Blessed Madeleinefrançoise De Justamond's memory and devotion were cherished by the Catholic community and, in recognition of her martyrdom, Pope Pius XI decreed her venerable on 19 March 1925.
