Biografía

Blessed Manuel Binimelis Cabré, also known as Manuel Cabré, was a Vincentian priest who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. He was born on January 31, 1892, in Reus, Tarragona, Spain.

Manuel Cabré dedicated his life to the service of God and humanity as a Vincentian priest. He embraced the teachings of St. Vincent de Paul and committed himself to helping the poor, marginalized, and those in need. As a Vincentian, he lived a life of humility, simplicity, and selflessness, striving to bring hope and compassion to the less fortunate.

During the Spanish Civil War, a time of great political and social turmoil in Spain, Manuel Cabré remained steadfast in his faith and continued his mission of serving others. Unfortunately, the war brought about a wave of violent persecution against the Catholic Church, and religious figures like Manuel Cabré became targets.

On September 12, 1936, in Barcelona, Spain, Blessed Manuel Binimelis Cabré was martyred for his unwavering commitment to his religious beliefs and his dedication to the Vincentian principles. He courageously faced persecution, refusing to renounce his faith despite the grave dangers he faced.

Blessed Manuel Binimelis Cabré's life and sacrifice were recognized by Pope Francis, who issued a decree of martyrdom on December 1, 2016. This decree acknowledged Manuel Cabré's martyrdom and his exceptional virtue, elevating him to the status of veneration within the Catholic Church.

In a solemn ceremony held on November 11, 2017, at the Palacio Vistalegre Arena in Carabanchel, Madrid, Spain, Manuel Cabré was beatified, becoming Blessed Manuel Binimelis Cabré. The beatification recognition was presided over by Cardinal Angelo Amato, representing the Holy See. This celebration honored the life, faith, and martyrdom of Blessed Manuel, affirming his exemplary Christian witness and inspiring others to follow in his footsteps.

Today, the memory of Blessed Manuel Binimelis Cabré continues to inspire Catholics and believers around the world. His unwavering faith, selflessness, and sacrifice stand as a testament to the power of conviction and the enduring light of Christ's love.
