Beata María Luisa Bermúdez Ruiz

Blessed María Luisa Berm√∫dez Ruiz, born on October 10, 1893, in Subugueira, Coruña, Spain, was a dedicated nun and a member of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul. She lived her life in service to God and the needy, following the example of Saint Vincent de Paul, the founder of her religious community.

On August 18, 1936, in Almenara, Valencia, Spain, she was martyred for her refusal to renounce her religious beliefs. The Spanish Civil War was marked by a fierce anti-Catholic sentiment, and many religious figures, including Maria Luisa, became targets of violence.
