Biografía

Blessed Maria Dolores Oller Angelats, also known as Fidela, was born on September 17, 1869, in Banyolas, Girona, Spain. She was a devoted Catholic nun and a member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, a religious congregation dedicated to serving others and spreading God's love.

Throughout her life, Maria Dolores Oller Angelats exemplified the virtues of compassion, selflessness, and unwavering faith. She dedicated herself to a life of prayer, contemplation, and service to God and her community. As a member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Maria Dolores tirelessly worked towards the betterment of society, particularly in the education and care of the underprivileged.

Tragically, Maria Dolores' life came to an abrupt end during the Spanish Civil War. On August 30, 1936, she was martyred on the Gandía-Xeresa highway in Valencia, Spain. Her courageous and unwavering faith in the face of persecution and violence serves as a testament to her devotion to God and her unwavering commitment to her calling.

Recognizing her martyrdom and her dedication to her faith, Pope Francis declared Maria Dolores Oller Angelats as "Blessed" on September 5, 2015. The beatification recognition ceremony took place at the cathedral of Girona, Spain, and was presided over by Cardinal Angelo Amato.
