Beato Mariano Palau Sin

Blessed Mariano Palau Sin, also known as Anselmo, was born on August 9, 1902, in Torres del Obispo, Huesca, Spain. He was a devout Catholic priest and a member of the Benedictine Solesmes Congregation.

Mariano Palau Sin's life was characterized by his deep faith and love for God. He dedicated himself to serving others and spreading the message of Christianity. On June 3, 2013, Pope Francis declared him venerable, acknowledging his heroic virtues and the significant impact he had on others through his martyrdom. Later, on October 13, 2013, Pope Francis beatified Mariano Palau Sin, officially recognizing him as a Blessed of the Catholic Church.

The beatification ceremony took place at the Complex Educatiu in Tarragona, Spain, where Cardinal Angelo Amato served as the chief celebrant.
