Blessed Mark Scalabrini, also known as Mark of Modena, was born around the year 1420 in Mocogna, Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. Coming from a noble family, he dedicated his life to the service of God and joined the Dominican order in Modena. With a deep commitment to his religious vocation, Mark proceeded to become a priest and was recognized for his captivating preaching skills throughout central and northern Italy.

One of the notable positions he held within the Dominican community was that of Prior at the monastery in Pesaro, Italy. His leadership and spiritual guidance were highly regarded by his fellow friars, locals, and visitors alike. Mark became renowned not only for his profound knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith but also for his profound ability to perform miracles.
