Beato Pietro Dagnino

Blessed Pietro Dagnino, also often referred to simply as Pietro, was a devout Catholic monk who lived during the early 11th century. Born in an unknown year, he dedicated his life to the pursuit of spirituality and the practice of piety.

Pietro's spiritual journey led him to become a member of the Camaldolese Order, a religious community founded by Saint Romuald in 1012. Under the guidance of Saint Romuald, Pietro proved to be an exceptional student and was chosen to become the first leader of the hermitage in Camaldoli, Italy. This appointment recognized Pietro's personal piety and his unwavering commitment to upholding the Rule of the Order.

As the leader of the hermitage in Camaldoli, Pietro exemplified the teachings and virtues of the Camaldolese tradition. He truly embodied the ideals of solitude, prayer, and contemplation that characterized the spiritual path followed by the monks of his community.
