Biografía

Blessed Pio Ruiz De La Torre, also known as Blessed Buenaventura Pio, was a member of the Christian Brothers and a martyr in the Spanish Civil War. He was born on July 9, 1909, in Freno de Rodilla, Burgos, Spain.

Blessed Pio Ruiz De La Torre joined the Christian Brothers, a religious congregation dedicated to providing education and caring for marginalized youth. He committed himself to a life of service and teaching, living out his faith with diligence and compassion.

During the turbulent times of the Spanish Civil War, when tensions ran high between different factions, Blessed Pio Ruiz De La Torre remained steadfast in his commitment to his faith and vocation. He continued to inspire and guide his students, instilling in them the values of love, justice, and peace.

Tragically, on September 1, 1936, in Tortosa, Tarragona, Spain, Blessed Pio Ruiz De La Torre became a victim of the religious persecution during the civil war. He was martyred for his unwavering faith and refusal to renounce his Catholic beliefs.
