17 September 1104 in Mélinais, Angers, France of natural causes; buried in the chapel of Saint John the Evangelist that Reinaldo had built; the Saint Augustine abbey was built on the site of his tomb; over the years the relics of Blessed Reinaldo were enshrined and then shifted around the complex several times; relics hidden in the parish church of Candé, Maine-et-Loire, France during the anti–Catholic persecutions of the French Revolution, and are enshrined there today

Beato Reinaldo de Melinais, también conocido como Reinaldo de Angers, Rainaud y Reginald, nació en Picardía, Gaula (actual Francia). Como joven, sintió una profunda vocación a la vida religiosa y se unió al convento de los Canónigos Regulares Agustinos de San Juan de las Viñas en Soissons, Francia.
