Biografía

Blessed Rosa Jutglar Gallart was a devoted member of the Dominican Sisters of the Anunciata. She was born on 25 January 1900 in Sabassona, a small village in Barcelona, Spain. From an early age, Rosa displayed a strong faith and a deep calling to dedicate her life to serving God.

Rosa entered the Dominican Sisters of the Anunciata, a religious institute committed to education and the care of the sick. She embraced the charism of her congregation and wholeheartedly engaged in their mission to bring the light of Christ to those in need.

During the turbulent years of the Spanish Civil War, Rosa fearlessly continued her mission to share God's love and compassion. In the midst of social and political unrest, she remained true to her religious vows and continued to teach and care for others, even amid growing danger.

Tragically, on 27 July 1936, Rosa Jutglar Gallart was martyred in Manresa, a town in the province of Barcelona. She courageously witnessed to her faith until the very end, refusing to renounce her religious beliefs despite the threats and persecution she faced. Her martyrdom is a testament to her unwavering devotion to Christ and her commitment to the principles of justice and peace.

Recognizing the exceptional holiness of her life and death, Pope Benedict XVI declared Rosa Jutglar Gallart "Venerable" on 19 December 2005, acknowledging her heroic virtue as a model for the faithful. Then, on 28 October 2007, Pope Benedict XVI beatified her, bestowing the title of "Blessed" upon her in a solemn ceremony. Her beatification recognizes her as a blessed martyr, one who gave her life for her faith.

Blessed Rosa Jutglar Gallart's feast day is celebrated on 27 July, the anniversary of her martyrdom. Her memory is honored by the Catholic Church and her followers, who draw inspiration from her example of fidelity, courage, and selfless service.

Although specific details about her representations or unidentified aspects of her life are not available, her legacy and devotion as a martyr continue to inspire countless individuals to live their faith boldly and emulate her Christ-like love for others.
