Beato Sébastienloup Hunot

Blessed Sébastienloup Hunot was a Catholic priest in the Archdiocese of Sens, France. He was born on 7 August 1745 in Brienon-l‚ÄôArchev√™que, Yonne, France, and dedicated his life to serving God and the people of his community.

During the anti-Catholic persecutions of the French Revolution, Blessed Sébastienloup Hunot found himself imprisoned on a ship in the harbor of Rochefort, France. Along with many other faithful Catholics, he was left to suffer and ultimately die for his faith. This group of prisoners came to be known as the Martyrs of the Hulks of Rochefort, symbolizing their perseverance and sacrifice.

Blessed Sébastienloup Hunot's martyrdom took place on 17 November 1794 aboard the prison ship Washington, in Rochefort, Charente-Maritime, France.
