Biografía

Blessed Teresa Rosat Balasch, also known as Amparo, was a professed religious in the Sisters of the Christian Doctrine. She was born on October 15, 1873, in Mislata, Valencia, Spain. Her life was dedicated to serving God and her fellow human beings.

Teresa Rosat Balasch entered the Sisters of the Christian Doctrine, where she exemplified the virtues of faith, love, and devotion. She lived a life of prayer, simplicity, and selflessness, striving to bring God's love to all those she encountered.

Unfortunately, during the turbulent times of the Spanish Civil War, Blessed Teresa endured great suffering for her faith. On September 26, 1936, in the town of Carlet, Valencia, she was martyred, a victim of the violent persecution against Catholics during that period. Her steadfast commitment to her religious vocation and her unwavering faith in the face of adversity serve as a powerful testament to her holiness.

Blessed Teresa Rosat Balasch is venerated and honored as one of the Martyred Sisters of the Christian Doctrine. Her feast days are celebrated on September 26th, the day of her martyrdom, and November 20th, collectively commemorating the Martyred Sisters.

Recognizing her martyrdom and her exemplary life, Pope John Paul II declared her venerable on July 6, 1993, by issuing a decree of martyrdom. Later, on October 1, 1995, Pope John Paul II beatified her, acknowledging her sanctity and her status as a blessed within the Catholic Church.

Blessed Teresa Rosat Balasch's life and sacrifice inspire countless believers to persevere in their faith. Her dedication to God and her commitment to love and serve others continue to be a shining example to all.
