Biografía

Esta biografía está disponible actualmente solo en inglés.

Aldetrude (c. 526 - c. 696) was a Christian saint and abbess of Maubeuge Abbey, located in northern France, from 684 until her death. She was one of four children born to Saint Waltrude and Saint Vincent Madelgarius; her siblings included Saint Landericus (a Bishop of Metz), Saint Dentelin, and Saint Madelberta (also abbess of Maubeuge). Her aunt Aldegonde served as the first abbess before Aldetrude took over. The exact year of her death is unknown but some sources suggest it was around 696. She is celebrated on February 25 or 27, and tradition holds that she lived to an advanced age. Her extant biography is considered unreliable, with the revised Roman Martyrology giving a death date of 526.
