Andrea Corsini was born on November 30, 1302, and died on January 6, 1373 or 1374. He was an Italian Catholic prelate who joined the Carmelites in his later years after a period of dissolute living. His mother's rebuke led him to join the Santa Maria del Carmine church, where he resolved to become a priest and friar. Corsini served as the Bishop of Fiesole from 1349 until his death. He imposed greater mortifications upon himself than required by the order and dedicated himself to assisting the poor. After his death, devotion to him grew so profound that miracles were reported at his tomb. His beatification was confirmed by Pope Eugene IV on April 21, 1440, and he was canonized as a saint by Pope Urban VIII on April 22, 1629.
