Biografía
Esta biografía está disponible actualmente solo en inglés.
Saint Casilda, also known as Santa Casilda de Toledo (950–1050), is venerated by both the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches. Her feast day is celebrated on April 9th. Born into a Muslim family as the daughter of the emir of Taifa of Toledo, she demonstrated remarkable kindness towards Christian captives in her homeland. Like other holy figures such as Elizabeth of Hungary and Elizabeth of Portugal, Casilda's life was marked by miracles, including the famous legend of roses appearing around her grave. Her hagiography, however, was not recorded until three centuries after her death and may have been influenced by later stories about these other saints.
