Biografía
Esta biografía está disponible actualmente solo en inglés.
Born around 1150 in Brustem, near Sint-Truiden, Belgium, Christina the Astonishing was a Christian holy woman known for her extraordinary miracles and legendary resurrection during her funeral mass. Thomas of Cantimpré wrote a hagiography based on accounts from people who knew her, making her widely known outside of Sint-Truiden. She is celebrated in the Fasti Mariani Calendar of Saints (1630) and Alban Butler's Lives of the Saints - Concise Edition (18th century). Christina died on July 24, 1224, and though never formally canonized, she is commemorated in the current edition of the Roman Martyrology on that same date. Her life and miracles have inspired devotion among believers who seek her intercession for various needs.
