Saint Everigisil

The road that cuts through the fertile lands of Brabant, now part of modern Belgium, bears witness to a sacrifice that transcends the silence of the centuries. It was here, near the ancient settlement of Tongeren, that a bishop of the Rhineland laid down his life for the faith. Saint Everigisil, a shepherd of the Church in Cologne, became a martyr during a journey that was meant to lead him to Poitiers.
