Saint Galdino della Sala, born around 1096 and died on April 18, 1176, was a Roman Catholic saint from Milan in northern Italy. Elevated to the cardinalate in 1165 by Pope Alexander III, he served as Archbishop of Milan from 1166 until his death in 1176. Known for his staunch support of both the pope and the city of Milan against the Antipope Victor IV and Holy Roman Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa, Galdino was a prominent figure in the political and religious landscape of his time. His legacy is also remembered for his charitable works towards the poor and those imprisoned for debt in Milan. Pope Alexander III canonized him as a saint of the Roman Catholic Church, recognizing his contributions to both the spiritual and temporal welfare of his community.
