Biografía

Esta biografía está disponible actualmente solo en inglés.

Giuseppina Vannini, born Giuditta Vannini on July 7, 1859, was an Italian religious sister who co-founded the Daughters of Saint Camillus with Luigi Tezza. Orphaned as a child and raised in Rome under nuns, her vocation to the religious life was strengthened. Despite suffering from ill health during her novitiate period, she continued to serve in various capacities within the religious community. Vannini and Tezza established their congregation in 1891, with Vannini serving as Superior General until her death on February 23, 1911. Her beatification process began in the 1950s but was formally introduced in the late 1970s, leading to her title as Servant of God and later Venerable upon confirmation of heroic virtue by Pope John Paul II in 1992. She was canonized on October 13, 2019, by Pope Francis.
