Saint Grato

In the rugged, stone-walled valleys of the western Alps, where the ancient Roman settlement of Augusta Praetoria still stands as a testament to endurance, the name of Grato emerges as a significant marker of early ecclesiastical history. He is remembered not for a singular, dramatic miracle recorded in the annals of legend, but for the quiet, steadfast witness of a shepherd entrusted with a flock in one of the most challenging frontiers of the ancient world.
