Into this formative period steps Ingenuino, a figure whose primary claim to historical remembrance is his foundational role. He is recognized as the first bishop of the see of Bressanone, situated at Sabiona in the ancient province of Rhaetia, a region that now falls within the modern borders of Tyrol.
