Biografía

Esta biografía está disponible actualmente solo en inglés.

Marie-Madeleine Postel, born Julie Françoise-Catherine Postel on November 28, 1756, was a French Catholic professed religious and founder of the Sisters of Christian Schools. After the French Revolution, she served as a schoolteacher and oversaw the education of around 300 children. During this tumultuous period, Postel used her former school to house fugitive priests, risking significant personal danger in support of the Church. Her beatification took place in 1908, and she was canonized by Pope Pius XI on July 25, 1925.

Postel's life exemplified dedication to education and the protection of clergy during a time of great upheaval in France. She is remembered for her bravery and commitment to religious teaching. Her feast day is celebrated on July 16 each year.
