Biografía

Saint Maron, also known as Mārōn or Mārūn (4th century), was a hermit monk in the Taurus Mountains of Syria who lived an austere and spiritual life in communion with nature. He is revered for his dedication to asceticism and his deep connection to God. After his death, his followers established a religious movement that evolved into the Maronite Church, which remains in full communion with the Catholic Church today. Saint Maron’s influence extended beyond his lifetime as one of his disciples, Abraham of Cyrrhus, became a significant missionary who spread the Maronite variant of Christianity throughout Lebanon, where it continues to thrive.
