Narcisa de Jesús Martillo Morán was born on October 29, 1832, and died on December 8, 1869, as an Ecuadorian virgin and Dominican tertiary in the Roman Catholic Church. Known for her charitable giving and strict devotion to Jesus Christ, Narcisa lived a virginal and austere life of prayer and penance. Her dedication was so strong that she decided to join the Third Order of Saint Dominic in Patrocínio (Peru), where she spent her final years. She passed away on December 8, 1869, fulfilling her commitment to a life of prayer and sacrifice. Narcisa de Jesús was beatified on October 25, 1992.
