Biografía

Esta biografía está disponible actualmente solo en inglés.

Nestor the Chronicler, active between c. 1056 and c. 1114, was a monk at the Monastery of the Caves in Kiev. He is renowned for his contributions to Kievan Rus' literature, particularly for writing two major hagiographies: the Life of the Venerable Theodosius of the Kiev Caves and the Account about the Life and Martyrdom of the Blessed Passion Bearers Boris and Gleb. Although traditionally attributed to Nestor as 'the Chronicler,' many modern scholars debate his authorship of the Primary Chronicle, leading some to prefer the title 'Nestor the Hagiographer.' His works have left a lasting legacy in Russian history and hagiography.
