Biografía

Saint Remigius, also known as Remy or Rémi, was born around 437 and died on January 13, 533. He served as the Bishop of Reims and is renowned for his pivotal role in converting the Franks to Christianity. On December 25, 496, Remigius baptized Clovis I, King of the Franks, an event that marked a significant turning point in the Christianization of the Frankish kingdom. This baptism led to approximately 3000 additional converts and was instrumental in establishing Nicene Christianity among the Germanic peoples who had previously been Arian Christians. Through his efforts, numerous churches were established in formerly pagan lands, solidifying the presence of a unified Christian faith within the Frankish empire.
