Biografía

Esta biografía está disponible actualmente solo en inglés.

Rose Venerini, born on February 9, 1656, and known as Rosa Venerini, was an Italian Roman Catholic saint who lived until May 7, 1728. She founded the first public schools for girls and young women in Italy, significantly impacting youth education. According to Vatican documentation from her canonization in 2006, a moral improvement could be observed in students where new schools were established. After Venerini's death, her confraternity of teachers was elevated to a religious congregation known as the Religious Teachers Venerini (or Venerini sisters). This congregation later worked with Italian immigrants in the United States and Switzerland, establishing daycare centers in the Northeastern U.S. and working globally. Rose Venerini is remembered for her dedication to education and charity.
